Welcome to Family Harmonies Familiales
Est. 2006
Family Harmonies Familiales brings together people from all walks of life – many of whom live with disabilities and mental health challenges – to create a community of love and support. Tailored programming combines skill-building exercises and fun into meaningful daytime activities in a comfortable and positive atmosphere.
With fun and engaging activities, the group members practice a variety of skills through natural-environment learning and have built a lovely community that supports each other and is always happy to welcome new friends!
Creative problem-solving to break down financial barriers
Most of the participants pay with ministry Passport Funding. Those whose budget doesn’t allow for full fees can take on tasks in the Employability program which help offset administrative costs while offering them unique opportunities to build further skills and responsibilities! Some parents and family members volunteer in different capacities too!

The Art of Friendship Discussion Group

This is a discussion group aimed at teens and adults, to explore some themes related to being a good friend: values and morals, personal boundaries, respect and consent, and conflict management and social media etiquette. Everyone is invited to do some colouring or other quiet and simple arts or crafts while we talk, to keep our fidgety fingers busy and help our minds focus. Participants must be comfortable participating independently in a group setting. Staff to participant ratio is 1:6.
These sessions will begin on Sat April 5th, in the boardroom at the Dymon storage at 2583 Carling Ave. It is a 6-week run on Saturday mornings from 10:30am-11:30am, except April 19th as it is a holiday weekend.
The registration fee is $150 for the full 6 weeks.

Musicability Choir

Our Musicability Choir had been running for 10 years although these last few years we haven’t had a space for weekly rehearsals. As of Wednesday April 2nd however, we’re bringing it back, only now we’ll meet at the Britannia United Church at 985 Pinecrest Rd! We’ll have some social time (board games and chatting, bring indoor shoes and your own NUT-FREE snack) starting at 3pm for anyone who wants to come early and Musicability will start at about 4pm and we’ll be done around 5:45pm or so to pack up and clean up. Please set Para pickups for no later than 5:30pm (in case they’re late).
The registration fee is $50 per month and we’re starting with just a Spring session, so for April, May and June.

Interactive Musicability sessions!

Our group is available to entertain and share in musical creation with your class, group and/or team! We have a good-sized repertoire of songs, some percussion instruments to share (and you can bring your own instruments), we pick some song and sing and jam on them together with Angèle leading on the ukulele! We typically receive between $100 and $150/hr which goes right back into our programs!
Please email us at fhf@rogers.com with any questions or to book a visit!
